10 easy activities to do with a toddler under 2

1. Cornmeal: I know its strange, but this little one is obsessed with sand! This stuff feels the same and can entertain for hours! I tried it in a bucket and on the floor, but the easiest thing for us was to strip her down to her diaper, and let her sit and play in it.

2. Sidewalk chalk-simple and easy to keep on hand! At first she wasn't to sure, but it helped a lot when I would draw with her. Each day we would pick something to write/work on like letters, numbers, or shapes! And we did hopscotch too!

3.Yogurt Painting- The best thing that has ever happened to me! I just use food coloring to dye yogurt. It has a very good consistency, and she can eat it!

4. Painting with shapes- this is kind of like yogurt painting, but instead of just using a brush or our fingers, I cut out shapes out of a sponge. Then they actually have something on their blank page, well..maybe! It gave us variety in our painting endeavors over a long long winter!
5. Magnetic Foam- again we worked a ton on letters, shapes, colors, and numbers. As a result G is almost 2 and knows most all of them! I just used magnetic tape and then we would put them on a cookie sheet or the fridge!
6.Playdough- we can spend so long playing with playdough! From using kitchen gadgets to cut it out to rolling our snakes and smashing pancakes :)

7. Legos/ blocks- mostly she like to just pull the legos apart, and knock the blocks over, but its fun!
8. Build a fort/tunnel- usually I'll just put a blanket over a space between the coach and the ottoman and she'll crawl through it a million times. Sometimes we play hide-n-seek so whoever is in the tunnel has to find the other person when they come out!
9. Stack cans of food- this is so silly! One day she decided that she was going to figure out how to stack up the canned food. It can take up lots of time, just make sure your little ones don't drop the heavy cans on their toes!
10. Pots and Pans band- another classic, but we love banging on the different dishes and hearing all of the different sounds.

Well hopefully you found something useful..These are the things that have worked the best for us while being stuck indoors!
